Operations

Lead to delivery, stage by stage.

An export order moves through named stages, from a lead's first inquiry to a closed, paid shipment. Every stage has an owner, a permission and the conditions it has to meet before the order can move to the next one.

Expodite Operations carries an order from a buyer's first inquiry through a quote, acceptance and production to delivery, on a workflow of 17 named stages. Each stage in the default template has an owner and blocking conditions, so an order cannot silently skip a step a manager hasn't cleared.

Operations

A pipeline that lives in someone's head.

Leads, inquiries and quotes are tracked in separate tools, or not tracked at all once they become an order. Who owns the next step, and what has to be true before the order can move, is answered from memory — until the memory is on leave.

What it does

One line, from lead to delivery.

  • 01

    Leads, inquiries, quotes

A lead becomes an inquiry, an inquiry becomes one or more quotes, and an accepted quote becomes an order — each step keeps its link to the one before it.

  • 02

    A named workflow, per order

The workflow template active when an order is created is snapshotted onto it, so a later change to the template doesn't silently rewrite an order already in flight.

  • 03

    Stage ownership and permission

Each stage names the permission required to move an order through it, so a transition is both visible and controlled — not just a status field anyone can edit.

  • 04

    Buyer and buyer-number management

Buyers carry their own numbering, contacts and addresses, and a cancellation — before or after shipment — follows its own tracked path, not a status overwrite.

What changes

Nothing moves without its owner knowing.

  • One order, one history

A lead's original inquiry is still attached to the order it became, for as long as the order exists.

  • A blocked order is visible

The stage an order is stuck on, and who owns it, is a query, not a phone call.

  • Cancellations handled either way

A pre-shipment and a post-shipment cancellation follow different, named paths, because they carry different consequences.

Questions

Operations, answered plainly

Can an organisation change the workflow stages?
Yes — workflow templates and their stages are organisation-level master data, and an order keeps the template it started on even if the template later changes.
What happens to a lead that doesn't convert?
It stays a lead, visible in its own list; nothing forces it into an inquiry or an order.
Does cancelling an order after shipment work differently to before?
Yes. Post-shipment cancellation is a separate, named path from pre-shipment cancellation, because the costs and the documents already issued differ.
