The margin on a quote is the difference between what the buyer pays and what the goods and the costs you carry cost you, in your base currency. Enter the costs the Incoterm puts on you (inland haulage, port charges, freight, insurance, inspection) so the margin is not flattering.

Low-margin approval

Your organisation sets a minimum margin. When a quote falls below it, only someone with the low-margin approval permission can submit it; anyone else sees why it is held, and the approvers are notified. The approval is recorded on the quote.

Exchange rates

  • A quote in a foreign currency is converted at the current rate, and the rate used is kept with the quote.
  • You can enter your own rate, for example one your bank has agreed, but you must give a reason.
  • Every quote and order needs a currency; Expodite asks for one if it is missing.
