Goods are declared twice: to customs in Egypt when they leave, and at the destination, often before they arrive. Expodite does not file these declarations itself; it prepares the data your broker or forwarder files, and tracks each filing as a step on the order.
Pre-arrival filings
The European Union's ICS2 entry summary declaration (ENS), and similar filings elsewhere, need a precise description of the goods and a 6-digit HS code before loading. For EU-bound and transiting orders, Expodite warns you when a line has no description or only a generic one, such as “foodstuffs” or “spare parts”, which would be rejected.
Origin statements
If you claim preferential duty under a trade agreement, the commercial invoice carries that agreement's origin declaration, with your approved-exporter number where the agreement requires one. If no declaration text is set up for the agreement you selected, Expodite warns you so the invoice does not go out without it.
Claiming preference is a legal statement that the goods meet the agreement's rules of origin. Keep the evidence (supplier declarations, cost breakdowns) for the period the agreement requires.
