Expodite keeps a library of export and import requirements: what Egypt requires of you as the exporter, what each destination requires on arrival, and what international conventions require in between. Each requirement is written as a rule with its conditions (the destination, the HS code, the mode of transport, the payment terms) and its official source.
What happens on an order
When you create or change an order, the rules that apply to it are evaluated and turned into concrete items: documents on the Documents tab, dated steps in the plan, data fields to fill in and checks at the right stage. The order keeps the version of each rule it was evaluated with; if a law changes, you are told what changed.
Check a market before you quote
The market check shows what a destination requires for a product before you commit to a price. A banner says how well that market is covered: verified, or a researched baseline with its date.
Adjusting the rules
- Add your own rules, for example a buyer's own document request.
- Switch off a rule that does not apply to you, with a reason. Egyptian export obligations, international conventions and prohibitions cannot be switched off.
- Make a warning stricter so that it blocks. A rule can never be made weaker than it is.
