Many buyers only buy from certified suppliers: an EU retailer may ask for GLOBALG.A.P., a food manufacturer for FSSC 22000 or BRCGS, a brand for a social audit. Record these on the buyer, under Required certifications, so every quote and order for that buyer is checked against them.

How a requirement is set

  • For one buyer, for a buyer group (all buyers of a kind, such as EU fresh-produce retail), or for a market.
  • Mandatory or preferred. A mandatory requirement you do not meet gives a warning you acknowledge; a preferred one is shown for information.
  • Where one of several certificates is acceptable, they are grouped as alternatives, and any one of them satisfies the requirement.

What Expodite checks

For each order it checks that you, or the supplier farm or factory the goods come from, hold a certificate that is valid on the planned ship date and whose scope covers the product and the site. A buyer's requirement never stops an order; it tells you in time to renew a certificate or talk to the buyer.
