Buyers buy to a specification (a size, a grade, a caliber, a moisture level) and in a packing they agreed to. In Expodite each product carries both, so quotes, packing lists, spec sheets and catalogue PDFs all read from the same place.
Specifications
- A product added from the library starts with the attributes that kind of product usually needs, with the values allowed for each. Fill in the ones you offer.
- What you offer is checked against the template, so a quote cannot promise a grade the product does not have.
Packaging levels
Describe how the product is packed, level by level: for example each, carton and pallet, or sack and big bag. For each level give its unit, the quantity it holds and its net and gross weights; the gross weight can never be lower than the net.
- Each level uses a different unit, and none can use the product's own stock unit.
- If none of the standard levels fits, choose “custom” and give it a label, such as “gift box”. The label is required for a custom level, because it is what prints on packing lists.
Accurate packaging weights are what make the packing list, the container load and the verified gross mass add up.
