A buyer is the company you sell to. Its record holds the legal name, country, addresses (including consignee and notify parties), contacts, importer tax ID or EORI, and its usual Incoterm, payment terms and currency. Quotes and orders copy these defaults so you do not retype them.
KYC: know your customer
Before you trade with a buyer, collect proof that the company exists and is who it says it is. By default Expodite asks for the buyer's commercial register extract and tax certificate, and lets you add an importer licence. Upload each document with its expiry date; the buyer's KYC status shows what is missing or about to expire.
- You can add your own KYC requirements, or switch off one you do not need, with a reason.
- An expiring document raises a warning before it lapses, so you can ask the buyer for a new one in time.
- Every new buyer is also screened against the sanctions lists automatically.
You can import many buyers at once from the buyers CSV template; each row goes through the same checks as a buyer added by hand.
