Some countries are under embargoes or sanctions regimes that restrict exports to them. Each restriction in Expodite names the authority that imposed it, the regime, what it covers and the dates it applies.
Blocked or warned
- A blocked destination cannot be loaded for: change the destination before loading. Comprehensive UN Security Council embargoes are blocked.
- A destination with an advisory, for example where sanctions cover only certain sectors, needs your acknowledgement, with a reason, before loading. Check whether your goods and your buyer fall within the restriction.
Dual-use goods
Dual-use goods have both civilian and military uses and need an export licence. Mark such products as dual-use, with their export-control code. An order with a dual-use line cannot proceed until an approved, valid export licence covering that order is recorded; the message lists each uncovered line.
